This partnership brings together Fiona’s personal journey, artistic expression, and our shared mission to end bullying and hate. Together, we released a special podcast episode and a powerful original song titled “ATTENTION.”
Fiona’s song aims to provoke thought about the weight of our lives online versus offline, and how we view our self-importance through the lens of both worlds. The pressure to be seen, validated, or accepted online can leave a lasting emotional impact. With vulnerable lyrics and bold energy, “ATTENTION” asks a timely question: What are we really chasing, and at what cost?
In Fiona’s podcast series “In Conversation With: Music & Activism”, Fiona shares how she overcame the fear of being online again after experiencing cyberbullying. She reflects on how support from Act To Change and The Slants Foundation’s Asian PaCIVICS music cohort helped her reconnect with music not just as art, but as a tool for healing and community.
Fiona also interviews bullying prevention expert Dr. Adam Collins on creating inclusive environments beyond schools, and bonds with Act To Change Executive Director Soukprida Phetmisy over cultural identity and building safe spaces – both online and offline, for AAPI youth and professionals. In a moving conversation with youth activist Jason Liaw, she draws strength from rising voices leading the fight for justice.
To use music to spark change, even in small ways, has been deeply healing. This collaboration shines a light on how music and activism can coexist. We’re honored to work with Fiona in our shared mission to empower AAPI youth and professionals, end bullying, and create communities where everyone feels seen, safe, and heard.
